I took a screenshot of this thread to remind myself it’s not about clicks, I’ed rather make people think about there lives then make people angry, I hope this thread is an improvement.
Yesterday I played Ratopia and ate a Cheesecake. Today I will play something else and if I find a cheesecake on special I will eat another cheesecake.
>>6558 At least you're trying. I'll bite, I can't tell if this is about continuity of identity or some kind of carpe diem, the first I think is much more interesting People change, and some people can change a lot, but most will build pretty heavy psychological barriers once what they consider their identity is set in, so they'll think themselves the same person even if their actions are very different from what they expected years before, there's strong tendency to rationalize our actions and align them with that core personality, but only pretty successful people can drive their lives through the path directed by their super ego. So I think what's more important is who you are today, not who you were yesterday, if things are working out you shouldn't be too worried On the other hand, I think if you're carpe dieming you're doing it wrong, sure it's nice to work on what you want every day, or just doing something that felt productive, you'll sleep much better, I guarantee it. But trying to squeeze all the juice of life experience can be in itself a constant demand that stresses you and lowers your life quality. Better to find that motivation that you have inside you and the good days will follow if you are honest enough that you adjust your ambitions to your capacities. The world is still plenty rich and with opportunities enough that you can carve yourself a cozy life you can be content with
>>6562 The first one, I think “carpe dieming” is overplayed and inaccurate most of the time. Saying that “the day will never come so do it now” or “there’s never not a good day to start” those always fell like high school coach quotes. I think you put it beautifully, the self is very fragile and easy to break it’s also very easy to lose. By one week the number gose up to 90% of everything you ever did today, yourself and your existence will be forgotten. If there is no remedy then it is as if you never existed. Do something Bernd!
>>6561 Routines can get repetitive, it’s like counting, why care about number 47 when you have 53 more to go. You only really care when you get to the end even then you might Rush it and you will have no more numbers to count.
>>6565 Life is a routine. I don't have an end goal to reach, I am just playing games. But it's true that doing new things makes a day more memorable. Today I might go to a new restaurant for tea.
>>6568 I have an end goal but you don’t need one. I hope you get your tea and make today memorable. >new restaurant Did it just open or have you just not Been there?
>>6570 I haven't been there, I moved to a new town a bit over a month ago and I have been cooking tea for my sisters pretty much every night. There are a bunch of places here I want to try one of them is a Texan Rib place.
>>6573 >I have been cooking tea for my sisters pretty much every night. That’s nice of you, you’re a good person Bernd. >There are a bunch of places here I want to try one of them is a Texan Rib place. I hope one day you can come over here to Texas the ribs are very delicious. Maybe that day will be one that you will remember tomorrow.
Lowering attentionspan for years, thats the result i suppose.
>>7130 >So back in 2004, we found the average attention span on any screen to be two and a half minutes on average. Throughout the years it became shorter. So around 2012 we found it to be 75 seconds. [...] And then in the last five, six years, we found it to average about 47 seconds, and others have replicated this result within a few seconds. source: https://www.apa.org/news/podcasts/speaking-of-psychology/attention-spans (February 2023)
>>7130 That’s how you live fast therefore, you expedience more, therefore, you get more out of life.
>>7295 What u and prob society call "living fast" ist nothing more than the dissolvement of the "idle-drive". Without that, you can "burn" through people, eventually kill them off, with earlier heartattacks, and call it as above.
