I preferred the british version, but I also like british humor, etc. The american version wasn't bad, just more cookie-cutter. Stromberg's first season was pretty good, but it then declines in quality quite steeply. It was mostly sad drama with a couple cringy jokes here and there from there on out.

It is very strange to watch something like early Peep Show (s1-3) and then to watch something like the office american version. The office seems cringe and contribed in comparison.
