What is bernd opinion on stand up comedy? It has become widely popular here. BR lefties are butthurt about it because they see it as american foreign influence on our culture.
I don't mind standup comedy, but most of standup comedians SUCK. And I am not just talking about Germany, but I think I can count the number of funny german, british, american, canadian standup comedians on one hand. Especially american comedians after 1990 have been peak unfunny. I remember some Carlin bits and some 80s coke era Robin Williams stuff that made me laugh, but especially what you get presented on Netflix is so bad that it makes me want to kill babies.
I'd never considered it particularly American. In Europe it's been a standard entertainment format for as long as anyone can remember. I've only ever been to one tho. It's okay but usually I got better things to do than listen to people tell jokes.
I hated every standup comedian I've ever seen. Maybe one day, this will change, but it's just cringe and not funny.

There are a few masters. Carlin, Chappelle, old Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor (lame to listen to now but for its time it was ground breaking). I think the all time best is Bill Hicks.. he died young at 32, but he is a legend who I love dearly.
>>22516 Do you have this cup at wörk to show your colleagues that you are an epic memer? :DDDD
>>22519 Yes, sometimes in a meeting I yell "SÄGE" and everyone calls me Bernd at wörk.

I'm not a huge fan of standup comedy. I'm more of a sitdown autism kind of guy.
>>22524 This was a joke. You used a semantic inversion to ironically counter the term "stand up comedy". It is a funny joke.
>>22525 Yes, that is correct. You are my greatest ally, Germany.
>>22526 You're welcome, Denmark.
Never heard a really funny standup. Just some low-comedy jokes when I never even had a smile.
Can be OK, but stand up comedians themselves tend to be cunts. And lots of stand up comedy end up being more about references, so people recognise the thing and laugh because haha I know/have experienced that thing, rather than there being anything funny about that thing.
Also my favourite comedian is Stewart Lee because frankly my tastes are superior to other people
>>22505 Berns recently got onto a standup comedy format from Germany and he...frankly likes it. Air comes out of the nostrils a tiny bit stronger and sometimes he even laughs. >american foreign influence on our culture. Idgaf. If it is good, do it. If it sucks, dont. Doesnt matter if it's ami.

>>22505 >What is bernd opinion on stand up comedy? Some are funny, many are not. Picrelated is one of the funniest and most profound.
>>22513 This one just keeps surprising me how bad it is.
I like Kabarett, which is similar.
>>22686 I mean, its a guy going on stage to tell some jokes. I'm pretty sure this predates America by a couple of millennia.
>>22714 >similar Kabarett is literally standup for people considering themselves above standup, plus a general tendency to be lecturing due to the usual political content. One of the worst offenders is Hagen Rether, who Bernd liked as a pretentious 20yo, or Volker Pispers, or Jan Böhmermann who is technically a Kabarettist, but in reality is a retarded cunt who deserves to be punched daily by everyone with a brain and/or sense of humor. Bernd always liked Georg Schramm and Urban Priol, or Dieter Nuhr.
>>22722 Kabarett often involves music (e.g. the fantastic Rainald Grebe), never saw a stand up format doing that but I could be wrong. There's also plenty of preachy "social commentary" stand up comedians.
