Bought an ergonomical mouse, there's less readjusting needed than I thought. Does Bernt use ergonomic devices?

how do you even use this shit?
While writing my thesis, I had a lot of pain from spending 16 hours a day in front of the PC. Afterwards, it got better and now my gf is using it. I think I bought the exact same model you posted.
>>21676 It's easy, your arm and hand position is just a bit different. >>21677 Luckily I don't have wrist pain yet, but I was looking for a new bluetooth mouse and I thought why not just go for an ergonomic one, so one has less problems in the future. I don't game, so it's not a bother.
>>21675 I'm glad if I can find something that's NOT made for fuggen righthanded people only. And that's not overly expensive, if it even exists. t. left
>>21689 There's a version of the Logitech Lift for left-handers
I nearly ruined my hands from playing path of exile for 5 years. Luckily I stopped before real damage was done.
Got one for 30€ a few months ago, wörks fine, relaxed gaming is no problem. I occasionally got slight pain in my wrist before, not anymore.

The tilted mice are ok. I had a true vertical mouse for some time and they don't let you rest on your wrist anymore. I lost all of my fine control with that thing. I thought that eventually I get used to it but after one or two months I got rid of it against because it got so embarrassing when I had to screen share at work and couldn't properly navigate to buttons anymore.
>>21701 I think this is how it goes, you need to use at least some part of your wrist to control. If you angle the mouse it just becomes a different muscle than the previous
No. I have a computer, not a fuggen Atari.
>>21675 There's no way that thing is more ergonomic than a regular mouse + wrist rest. To move that thing you need to move your whole arm instead of just your fingers.
>>21763 No, you don't, I don't move my arm more than with a regular mouse.
>>21767 Oof one thing is red, so it must bad, the other one is green, so its good.
>>21767 Just because you use your mouse that way doesn't mean everybody does. I don't move my arm AT ALL when I move my mouse because I have a wrist rest and my wrist rests on it without moving and only my fingers move the mouse. I spend about 16 hours every day on the pc and have never had any pains or anything but moving the mouse with my arm like you do would cause problems.

Lots of people have vertical mice nowadays. Real questions is if you are man enough for the vertical keyboard.
>>21779 that pic looks like wrist ache 3D printing a completely new keyboard design is something I think about sometimes though. I'd change the shape, layout, everything. atm I'm wondering how many finger actions can be taken by one hand. For example there's no reason you only have to type by pressing down, you could also type by pressing up.
Tbh I would feel like a retard with such a mouse.
>>22531 >i would feel like but you already are lol
>>22790 Daym I got caught.
>>21675 My personal choice for ergonomic pointing devices is a trackball with thumbball. I prefer the ones made by Logitech. I even do gaming with them.
ergonomic keyboards are cool but ergonomic mouses are gay, why is that
>>22801 Cause they aint looking like gaymer mice. T. Bought this piece of shit for 50 euros and it was done in 2 years. After that I bought a 10 euro microsoft mouse that was fine for 6 years.
>>22801 they're both gay but the keyboard is actually useful which negates its gayness

>>22799 I used one of these for a time. It brings back the pain of having to clean the ball everyday like with the old ball-mice. Also it felt like the resistance to spin the ball gets higher over time no matter how good you clean it. I had several logitech mice where the button stopped working after two years or so. Since then I don't buy logitech anymore. Nowadays I just use the cheapest razer mouse. It has everything I need and nothing more.
>>22820 My logitech mice also had the same problem after years of use. Tried a razer mouse and the wheel broke in two months. Fucking piece of shit.
>>21779 Who buys this?
>>22828 I have a colleague at wörk who has one. He is kind of a keyboard shortcut nerd. He has shortcuts for everything. I think one of his reasons is to show off to other programmers. Generally I find it obvious that when you spend most of your day with keyboard and mouse in your hand that you should experiment with them a little. I find it astonishing how many programmers use cheap 8€ keyboards for their whole career and have no desire to use something nicer. Personally I only use keyboards with mechanical switches because it is satisfying to type on them. I wouldn't be opposed to trying out a vertical keyboard if they weren't that expensive.
>>22834 I have a coworker who sets his machines to dvorak but can't actually type it properly. Complete manchild in many ways. I have to listen to him talk about Star Wars or the most recent Postillon post regularly.
>>22834 >Generally I find it obvious Yes, you find it obvious. There people out there who change their Window-Layout because bottles are blocking part of the screen.
>>22837 >his machines to dvorak but can't actually type it properly Well you have to start somewhere if you want to learn it. I would like to switch to american layout because the german layout is so shit for programming but I'm just too damn lazy.
>>22844 I recommend EurKey.
>>22834 I have a mechanical keyboard too. It's one of those seemingly pointless nerd overspends which are actually worth the money.
>>22880 Since the chinks started switch manufacturing themselves they are not even that expensive anymore. I recently bought one for 25€ and it is decent.
>>22906 Mine cost €150 if I remember correctly. Certainly enough for some buyer's remorse if it failed.
>>22834 Keyboards are tools to professional programmers and professionals don't get "nice" tools because they're not status objects to them but things they use and break.
>>22919 There are more reasons to get nice tools than getting them as status objects. Usually because they work better, last longer, or feel nicer. I dare you to get ans mechanical keyboard with blue switches and tell that it does not feel much nicer to type with it.
>>22927 >Usually because they work better, last longer, or feel nicer. They don't. That's just your mind trying to justify the purchase as something else than vanity.
>>22930 I've never seen a professional use anything but top brand tools. At home you'll find all the no-name stuff from chinesium to decent quality, but only dentists will get the Bosch blue line stuff for their home, or full set of PB Swiss Tools screwdrivers for 5 bucks a piece. Yet all professionals do. How come?
No but I would say my set ups is quiet ergonomic as it is. I use a regular mouse but I am on a lounge and I rest my elbow on a book to raise it so that it's actually straight with the mouse.
