Why does Linux have such bad battery life?
It doesn't. My notebook lasts 9h with linux. Of course with cpu governor powersave and brightness only to 20%. On windows the same notebook lasts only 6h. On windows you cannot control the cpu and gpu clocks to that granularity like on linux. I can put my CPU even on 400MHz, my GPU on 250MHz and keep it there.
Why do spotted hyenas have such long necks?
Why do Finns post such low quality bait?

Interesting, but it must be technically possible on Windows because my shitty Asus software bugs out sometimes and locks the CPU at 433mhz.. even reboot wouldn't fix it... only unplugging and plugging it back in..
>>16123 You can definitely change the max and min clock speed in Windows since at least Windows 98. It's a hidden feature in the energy controls and yes, it's grainy, just as a percentage of max clock speed, but you can do it without extra software. I often used it on my old Windows 7 machine due to its broken fans to reduce heat during summer. Weird times.

>>16141 Yeah, and with GPUs you could always do it with stuff like Afterburner.
